Feeling desolate?

Updated: Mar 2, 2021

“Sometimes you will feel desolate, cut off from my love, cut off from my grace. Stay strong in my strength and know I’m working in your soul and don’t believe the lies that I’m not with you. Rely on the power of My Victory of the Cross, not your strength. “ Love Your Heavenly Father

"I waited patiently for the Lord, He turned to me

and heard my cry." Psalms 40:1-2

I call desolation what is entirely the opposite of consolation, as darkness of soul, torment of spirit, inclination to what is low and earthly, restlessness rising from many disturbances and temptations which lead to want of faith, want of hope, want of love. The soul is wholly slothful, tepid, sad, and separated, as it were, from its Creator and Lord.” St. Ignatius

What do we do when we feel this way?

PRESS IN. Press in further to God, don't pull away. Even if you aren't ready to be grateful, thank God for putting you in this desolate time. God is doing it to help you grow further in Him, to show you imperfections and to purify you. Know that consolation and feeling His presence will come again!

Praying
Words of
Everyday Grace

Words are powerful!  God literally used words to create the Universe by speaking creation into existence.  In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. What a beautiful act of love! God uses this communication through the Holy Spirit to "speak" sanctity into us! To transform us from sin to holiness.

Graces are the supernatural gifts God gives us to help us gain eternal salvation.

When we surrender ourselves to God we can be led by these truths and be transformed to  become more like Jesus!
