A New Era

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

Many of us have been asking since early 2020 "What's going on?" For the world it's been a time of confusion, division, violence, sin, change, death and destruction. We are seeing some of these things happening in our churches as well. For others, proclaim this has been a time of purification, an awakening, abounding grace, intimacy and learning. We hear about this in scripture"...where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:20-21

Where are you at on this spectrum? The whole world has experienced changes in the way we live, the way we socialize, the way we shop, seek entertainment, how we attend appointments, how we attend school, the way we communicate and interact, the way we learn, the way we juggle our roles in family/work situations, the way we celebrate holidays/birthdays and the way we worship. Many aspects of our life have changed without us having any control over it.

When the whole world is involved of acts of change it's usually time to look up and start realizing God is trying to bring change. We have been told by the world about a global reset and an agenda to change the way we work, live, go to school, own items, etc. We can't expect God is happy with a world with so much sin. The Sacrament of marriage has been almost obliterated with adultery, divorce, same-sex unions, and fornication. Life as God has defined it has become so disrespected with the innocent killing of 1 million babies per year in the U.S. alone, assisted suicides, the mass use of birth control, suicides, substance abuse, and sex trafficking. Even our God-given identity has also morphed into people now have the right to choose to be whatever sex they want to identify with. Science now has the capabilities to clone, modify our food, modify aging, and control the population with vaccines and viruses. Just in naming some of the things we see going on, we can realize that the world is telling God we don't need Him. The world is saying we have many idols to replace Him with, and we would rather have our own choices. But, isn't this God's Creation and His world? We can see in the Bible when God's creation makes this type of mockery of what He has created, especially to this extent...He steps in.

Scripture, Prophetic popes and saints, and Mary the Mother of God have all given us a lot of signs to watch for. I strongly believe we are seeing many of them unfold.

So take this time seriously to look where you are. Where would you like to spend eternity? In Sirach Ch. 18 it tells us that our time here is as small as one drop of water in the sea compared to eternity. Are you living your life in the way that will lead you to Heaven? We must accept Jesus every day and when we mess up, ask Him for forgiveness and strive hard to surrender to him to let the potter sculpt us to be more like Him through grace.

How do we attain grace? Through praying and listening daily. Read scripture and ponder on it, so it becomes leaving and breathing in you. Through fasting we can hear the Holy Spirit better and fasting helps decrease our vices of sin. Physically and mentally follow Jesus daily with great effort. Get to know the saints, use them as your army to aid you in spiritual battles and intercess your prayers. Put your life in order. Put God first, then family, and then work. Ask the Mother of God, Mary to bring you to Jesus. If she was good enough to bear Him, He entrusted her to His disciple and He listened to Her to perform His first miracle at the wedding at Cana, and we are commanded to imitate Jesus...then why wouldn't we emulate His actions? Consecrate yourself to the Sacred heart of Jesus and Mary's Immaculate Heart, this will be your refuge! No one will be able to take that away from you! Here you will be safe from the perils of this world! There is so much hope if you stay in Jesus! Going to Mass regularly, but most importantly preparing for it. We are attending the Wedding Banquet and receiving Jesus's Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity! So dress modestly, fast an hour before, so you are ready for Jesus to enter! Ask for help prior that you retain all the graces that are flowing from the Mass. Remember this is where Heaven meets Earth! All of Heaven, angels, saints, are worshipping The Holy Trinity as one!!! And we are invited to this Wedding Banquet! When honestly we don't even deserve to be invited to be in God's Holy presence, but He is so merciful, He not only wants our presence there, He wants to go home with us and live, breath, and pray in us! What? Yes!!! The God of the Universe loves us so much He wants to reside in us so we can bring His Kingdom here on Earth!!! So fall madly in love with Jesus and let Him sweep you off your feet!

Praying
Words of
Everyday Grace

Words are powerful!  God literally used words to create the Universe by speaking creation into existence.  In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. What a beautiful act of love! God uses this communication through the Holy Spirit to "speak" sanctity into us! To transform us from sin to holiness.

Graces are the supernatural gifts God gives us to help us gain eternal salvation.

When we surrender ourselves to God we can be led by these truths and be transformed to  become more like Jesus!
