Overcoming temptation

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

Rely on God’s limitless strength and not our limited strength.

God always gives us a way out, and doesn’t tempt us beyond what we can handle. Read in scripture how Jesus, himself handled temptation. Ask for His help, cry out to Our Father, use scripture as your armor. Ask for help from your guardian angel and the saints. Know your

repeated sin, and guard yourself from those things that put you in a vulnerable place. Mindfully reflect on what Jesus did for our sin often, to allow your respect to grow for him and your soul to change by Him. Match his wounds to the frequent sins you commit. Remember He is your Father, your Savior, your friend so never go to sleep at night without telling Him you are sorry. Frequent the sacraments of Confession, the Eucharist and go to Adoration, they give us GRACE! Grace to become more like Jesus!

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will

also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11.

Praying
Words of
Everyday Grace

Words are powerful!  God literally used words to create the Universe by speaking creation into existence.  In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. What a beautiful act of love! God uses this communication through the Holy Spirit to "speak" sanctity into us! To transform us from sin to holiness.

Graces are the supernatural gifts God gives us to help us gain eternal salvation.

When we surrender ourselves to God we can be led by these truths and be transformed to  become more like Jesus!
